Oil and gas mineral aggregator and AI solutions for lead generation.

At Poolside we identify ownership buried deep in public records, then make it legible: where development is headed, which acreage sits in its path, and what the underlying interests are worth. Poolside also invests in mineral, royalty, and non-operated interests on the strength of that analysis, so the work has to hold up with our own capital behind it.

Work today is concentrated in Appalachia, meaning the Utica and Marcellus across Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, and in the Haynesville of East Texas and North Louisiana, with ongoing work in the Uinta Basin in Utah, the DJ Basin in Colorado, the Powder River in Wyoming, and across Oklahoma.

Background

I have fifteen years of experience in the oil and gas industry working title review and acquisition projects, on transactions from small and simple to large and complex, across all major basins. Most of the work comes down to helping owners understand what they own and what it is worth, so they can make a decision they are comfortable with, whether that is selling, leasing, or holding.

I am a licensed attorney in Texas and a registered land professional in Ohio.

I am currently focused on using new tools, including AI, to attack old problems: identifying leads, streamlining title review, and closing transactions faster and cheaper.

Outside of work, I enjoy coaching my kids’ youth basketball, baseball, and soccer in Houston.

  • Ownership data from pooling filings, ranked into leads

    Aggregating ownership data out of public pooling filings, then generating and stack-ranking leasing and mineral buying leads. The filings name the owners inside a proposed unit, which turns a regulatory docket into an ordered list of who is worth contacting first.

  • Owner-level royalty valuation calculator

    An interactive calculator for an oil and gas unit, with owners loaded from public filings and live inputs for net mineral acres, royalty rate, pricing, deducts, timing, and risk. It shows present value at several discount rates and an annual cash-flow chart, so an owner can see what an offer is measured against.

  • Mapping surveyed well completions against ownership

    Interactive maps that plot surveyed well completions on top of ownership data, so tract and well overlaps are more accurate than public mapping data.

    Texas

  • Unclaimed property screening for mineral owners

    Processing of Texas and Louisiana unclaimed property records to identify likely oil and gas mineral and royalty owners, turning a public dataset into a list of people with interests worth a closer look.
